PS4: Your reaction to its specs, games and more - Los Angeles Times

PS4 has been unveiled, and now it's your turn to react.

Sony showed the world its next-generation offering in a lengthy event that revealed the system's hardware, controller, a few games and several long-term promises. Hero Complex laid out the details of the pitch, from their newfound focus on deep social integration to every PS4 game, their retreat from the PS3′s controversial cell processor and their swipe at Nintendo's Wii U with the integration of "remote play" between the PS4 and PlayStation Vita.

Sony was confident that its pitch of simple, flexible playing options and beefed-up graphics will carry the day come the PS4's ambiguous "Holiday 2013" launch window, but what do you think? Tell us in the comments below after you take a look at reaction from some of the industry's biggest names:

10 things you need to know about the PS4

From a hardware standpoint, programming legend John Carmack gave the PS4 a seal of approval, and he wasn't alone.

Beyond the nuts and bolts of the system itself, pundits praised the system's social integration and focus on streamlined hardware.

The PS4's games, though just a glimpse of what Sony promises will be a larger lineup as the year goes on, were met with general enthusiasm, with "Watch Dogs" again taking the spotlight, though there were some notable omissions.

Questions still remain on some of the specifics of Sony's general plans for the console.

And of course, Xbox spokesman Major Nelson quickly fired a shot at Sony's largest omission – the physical console.

But at the end of the day, we agree with British comedian and commentator Charlie Booker. Where's killer app-in-the-making Shaq-Fu 2?
