PS4 has been unveiled, and now it's your turn to react.
Sony showed the world its next-generation offering in a lengthy event that revealed the system's hardware, controller, a few games and several long-term promises. Hero Complex laid out the details of the pitch, from their newfound focus on deep social integration to every PS4 game, their retreat from the PS3′s controversial cell processor and their swipe at Nintendo's Wii U with the integration of "remote play" between the PS4 and PlayStation Vita.
Sony was confident that its pitch of simple, flexible playing options and beefed-up graphics will carry the day come the PS4's ambiguous "Holiday 2013" launch window, but what do you think? Tell us in the comments below after you take a look at reaction from some of the industry's biggest names:
10 things you need to know about the PS4
From a hardware standpoint, programming legend John Carmack gave the PS4 a seal of approval, and he wasn't alone.
I can't speak freely about PS4, but now that some specs have been made public, I can say that Sony made wise engineering choices.—

Beyond the nuts and bolts of the system itself, pundits praised the system's social integration and focus on streamlined hardware.
I was pretty shocked by how much time Sony spent talking about the console and talking through the front-end ideas. Pretty refreshing.—

Impressive showing by Sony. Clearly the next leap isn't really in graphics. Some very cool social features for PS4.—

The hardware decisions Sony made, in terms of ease of use and power, are smart. This is the downside. Keep your PS3 for Journey. 's my plan—

The PS4's games, though just a glimpse of what Sony promises will be a larger lineup as the year goes on, were met with general enthusiasm, with "Watch Dogs" again taking the spotlight, though there were some notable omissions.
That demo for WATCH DOGS pretty much took any anticipation I had for GTAV away. Groundbreaking.—

Why should sports be a part of this? Oh, I don't know, the genre only puts three titles in the top 10 of all sellers every year …—

As a lover of new IP I'm a bit bummed by the lack of it from the ps4 news.—

Yes, the Bethesda (publisher) logo was on the screen at PS4 event. It means we will be publishing games for PS4. Nothing else.—

PS4 not backwards compatible. Gotta wonder what Rockstar's plan is with GTA coming in September.—
Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) February 20, 2013
Sony not announcing a Final Fantasy game would be like Nintendo not trotting Mario out.—

Questions still remain on some of the specifics of Sony's general plans for the console.
How exactly will Vita/PS4 connectivity work when a Vita has less buttons?—
Justin Norris (@BrianJNorris) February 20, 2013
@LATherocomplex I am annoyed that the ps3 games are not compatible. What the hell are they thinking? They are throwing our money.—

PSN purchases won't carry over to PS4. Pretty much says, "Don't bother touching PS Store for the rest of 2013!" bit.ly/11XpaDa—

And of course, Xbox spokesman Major Nelson quickly fired a shot at Sony's largest omission – the physical console.
Announce a console without actually showing a console? That's one approach—

But at the end of the day, we agree with British comedian and commentator Charlie Booker. Where's killer app-in-the-making Shaq-Fu 2?
Hope they announce Shaq-Fu 2 #fingerscrossed #PS4—
