It started this weekend when the disturbing Miami incident of a naked man eating another man's face hit the news and was dubbed "zombie apocalypse." Today more very gory and bizarre incidents have surfaced across the nation. These tales have many wondering what's going on. Is it the bath salts being used like a drug causing psychotic behavior as some speculate?
The first incident to make news occurred this weekend in Miami where a naked man, Rudy Eugene, climbed on top of a 65 year-old homeless man and ate his face, according to WebProNews. Police were beckoned by a passerby and they told Eugene to back away from the victim. Eugene looked up with pieces of human flesh hanging from his mouth and growled at the police. He then went back to eating the victim's face.
The police shot Eugene, but he continued chewing on the man's flesh. They were left with no options and the attacker was fatally shot to get him away from the victim. The victim, Roland Poppo, had 80% of his face eaten away and was unrecognizable as a man. He remains in the hospital in critical condition today. Pictures were released showing the victim and the crime scene aftermath.
This morning Wayne Carter of Hackensack NJ was added to the "zombie apocalypse" by the media after news that he stabbed himself over 50 times while refusing to drop a knife for police on Sunday. His wounds were so deep that his intestines poured out of his cut abdomen. He didn't seem to feel the pain as he ripped pieces of his intestines and flesh and threw them at the police. The scene was so gory and bloody that the SWAT team, who were finally able to subdue him, needed to get decontaminated.
On Tuesday a cage fighter from California, Jarrod Wyatt, attacked his training partner in his apartment after allegedly drinking a mushroom tea. He began hallucinating that the man was demon possessed. Wyatt ripped out the victim's heart, cut out his tongue and tore off his face. He then started to burn the body parts to get rid of the demons. He was found by a friend naked, (like Eugene in Miami) covered in blood with body parts scattered around the living room.
Later Tuesday night in Baltimore the brother of Alexander Kinya, 21, found a human head and hands in a basement sink of their home. He called police and Alexander admitted to killing his roommate and eating his heart and brain.
Four men in the past week have all experienced some type of mental psychosis that left them with superhuman strength and endurance along with gruesome behavior. Many are asking if this is the outcome from the newest drug craze of bath salts. This was insinuated by Miami authorities in Eugene's case. Something happened to these four men, which are unrelated cases, something that is completely out of the ordinary.
These cases are mounting evidence for those who believe that this is a start of the "zombie apocalypse." This is a well-known fictional state of the world thanks to the hit show "Walking Dead" from the AMC channel.
